Our application process is to match pets' personalities and exercise/training requirements with people whose lifestyle they are best suited to.
The application process
Submit an application to the adoption team for review (usually takes 2-3 days). You’ll find the form on this page.
Home checks are conducted on short-listed approved applicant(s).
Best match selected according to the pet's personality and needs.
Successful applicant notified and must place holding deposit while transport/pickup arrangements made.
Adoption transaction completed.
You’ll notice we ask quite a few questions, this is because each animal’s temperament, as well as its breed’s inherited tendencies, are different. At Best Friends Pet Rescue, we do our best to match adoptive families to the pet that is suited to their expectations, lifestyle, activity levels, and the like. This helps reduce the chances that this pet will end up unwanted or homeless again because the most common reasons given for taking a dog to the pound include unsuitable accommodation/moving into a rental that doesn’t allow pets, lack of time for a dog, and financial difficulties. Please do not feel offended by this application, we want to do our best to ensure that you and your adoptive pet have a long and happy life together!
